Let's Shop!

Jennifer and I did some great shopping on Tuesday to prepare for the upcoming school year.  We found some good deals at Target, Dollar Tree, Staples, Teacher’s Tools, and Lakeshore.  Yes we went everywhere after starting the morning at the yearly Teacher Appreciation sale at Teacher’s Tools in Lewisville.  We didn’t win any of the door prizes but we got goodie bags and had lots of fun!

These were all found at the Dollar Tree

The blocks can be used for word building or math games. The stencils are for a new writing activity that I am going to try this year.  You can always find good stuff at the Dollar Tree.

It's Sticker Time!

The stickers will be used by the students to write sticker stories.

It Can't Be August Already

Well we now have a little more than two weeks before we return to work. I don't know where the summer has gone. This has been a very eventful summer with its ups and downs. Overall, I feel like it was a successful summer since I was able to pass my 154 ESL exam and attend many informative workshops.
Through all the ups and downs this summer I was blessed to be able to spend lots of quality time with my family and friends.  I am especially thankful for the time I have spent with Kevin and with Gigi and her family.

Kevin and I were able to spend some quality time working on the house and just enjoying some time together. We have gotten lots done on the house such as a new roof, touch-ups around the inside, painting the exterior of the house, and redoing the flowerbeds.  On June 28th we not only celebrated my birthday but the end of the Lockhead strike.

Twice this summer I was able to travel to Mineola, TX and stay with Gigi. I had a wonderful time and greatly enjoyed getting to spend time with everyone. Avery has gone so much and is turning in to such a big girl. She keeps me laughing all day. Aubrey is also growing; however she is turning into a beautiful young lady. I am so proud of her. Gigi isn’t doing so bad herself. She is a wonderful mother, wife, sister, granddaughter, niece, cousin, and friend. I’m not sure she knows how much she does for our family. We are all grateful and appreciative for how much she has done to take care of our Papa.
